Advantage Business Media Design Group editorial director, Alix Paultre, is leaving the organisation to join power supply manufacturer, Globtek, as marketing director. Alix joined Advantage Business Media in 2008 and during his tenure helped create and implement the initiative to refresh and re-purpose ECN (Electronic Component News), the flagship publication of the group, to better address its target audience of design engineers. The lessons from that effort are now being applied to the other publications of the group, and include new processes, sources, and ways to address online audiences using the latest in publishing tools and practices. Alix says he will continue to serve the design engineer as a member of the power electronics community and his duties at ADG will be handled by Chris Warner, executive editor at the group, for the time being. blog comments powered by DisqusLighting Developer signs Jerry Kolansky as VP of sales and marketing
Industry veteran and former sales executive at HP, Agilent, Power Integrations and Cree, Jerry Kolansky, has taken the helm at Lighting Developer to manage its expansion into Germany and China.
Lighting Developer claims to be the industry’s first independent SSL site. Links to Mouser and Future Electronics’ shopping carts, and the Hearst inventory tool enable Lighting Developer’s distribution partners to provide online ordering and fulfillment.
The parametric search engines are modeled on Embedded Developer’s device-compare capabilities and are coupled in a design chain so that an engineer can quickly find complete lighting solutions. Separate research tools for LEDs, power sources, optics and tools significantly reduce the time taken to explore a broad and ever-changing set of solutions from the industry’s leading LED and component suppliers.
The architect of the site, and Embedded Developer’s Chief Operating Officer, Bob Smith, said, “The three main goals of lighting developer are to give experienced SSL designers a time saving research tool; to give engineers, new to SSL design, the resources they need to get started; and to allow everyone to see who’s got what in a very dynamic application space”.
Contact Jerry on his Cell: +1 (650) 492-0001, at the Office: +1 (916) 258-3172, or at jerry.kolansky@lightingDeveloper.com.

blog comments powered by DisqusDanish electronics web site gets facelift
Aktuel Elektronik and Elektronik Nyt have re-launched their common web site at elektronik-online.dk.
Claimed by the publisher to be the only Danish website dealing exclusively with topics from the electronics industry, it’s aimed at Danish readers of electronics media who, although fluent in English/American, prefer to read the news in Danish.
As the editor-in-chief of the website, Rolf Sylvester-Hvid now has funding to re-work English press releases, so a number of relevant press releases and product news stories will be translated and edited by Aktuel Elektronik or Elektronik Nyt and published both on elektronik-online.dk and in the relevant printed media.
